‘The Unroyal’ Community Choir is a warm friendly group, open to anyone who loves to sing and a great way to meet and make new friends. There is no need to read music and no auditions, just join in the fun.
The choir will give its members the chance to experience the magic of unaccompanied harmony singing via a wide repertoire of musical genres including classical, traditional folk, musical theatre, jazz, pop and gospel, in traditional A cappella style.
This ‘Unroyal’ ensemble is to be led by experienced musician and teacher Sasha Herriman. Outside of performing herself, Sasha teaches. She is an experienced Musical Director of adult and children’s choirs across the South West UK and is looking forward to shaping the Community Choir at The Princess.
Thanks to Seed Sedgemoor, Sedgemoor District Council and Somerset County Council for funding to make this possible.

Funding from Somerset Skills and Learning

We will be offering socially distanced workshops in Music and theatre in Burnham on Sea, Wellington and Taunton over the next academic year.
The Popera House
We are ready to hit the road! The Popera House has been created by The Bluebirds from scratch. Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, we have been able to create this magnificent home for The Bluebirds Theatre Company. Check out the images here of the progress of the wagon. It was designed by Sasha Herriman and Amy Hardwick and built to our own unique specification by Tarn Aitken of AitkenEngineering. Paintwork was done by Dave Panit ably assisted by his apprentice Ivy of Panit and Ivy. Thanks to their amazing work, the wagon is ready to roll. It’s a magical space and can tell stories big and small, short and tall! Let us know if you would like to book the wagon for an event. We can bring one of our shows, develop a show for you or just provide the wagon as a venue to pep up your event. Best of all, it’s perfect for the great outdoors, so if you have a garden party, we can make it fly.
